Pendant Lights for Dining Rooms and Living Spaces
A pendant light does more than illuminate a room: it sets its visual anchor. Two rules of thumb for getting the size right. Height first: over a dining table, leave roughly 30 to 36 inches between the tabletop and the bottom of the fixture, low enough to light the plates, high enough to keep sightlines clear. Diameter second: aim for about one third of the table's width for a single pendant, or hang two to three smaller ones in a row once the table runs past six feet.
