Natural Material Lighting: Light That Arrives Filtered
A fixture in natural materials is not chosen for how it looks switched off alone. Woven rattan, bamboo, paper and linen filter light instead of diffusing it evenly: lit, they throw patterns across the ceiling and walls and turn a point source into a luminous object. That is what really separates this family from a conventional shade.
The consequence is practical: these fixtures light a room less efficiently than an opal shade. Plan them as ambient sources, backed by something else for reading or working, rather than as a room's only light.
On upkeep, weave holds dust — regular dry dusting is enough, but plant fibers are best kept out of very damp rooms. Continue with our Scandinavian selection and our wood & fabric fixtures.
