Marble and Stone Lighting: Weight as a Signature
Marble and stone do not contribute light, they contribute mass. A marble fixture registers first through its base, its density, and veining that is never twice the same. It is a contrast material: it works best alongside brass, glass or slim metal, which lighten the whole.
Two practical consequences follow from the weight. On a table lamp, a stone base brings stability that plastic or hollow metal cannot match — useful on a narrow console or near a walkway. On a pendant, the opposite applies: the weight means checking your ceiling fixing and mounting type before installation.
