Designer Lighting: Building the Light in Every Room
The full Luminoa catalog, every fixture type in one place. Designer lighting works as a system rather than a single purchase: what makes a room comfortable is the combination of sources. The rule that holds anywhere is three points of light — an overhead layer for general brightness, a task layer where you read or cook, and a low ambient layer that softens everything after dark.
Each format has a job. Flush mounts and pendant lights handle the overhead layer; wall sconces throw a halo without taking up floor space; table lamps and floor lamps build the low layer. Several modest sources almost always beat one powerful ceiling fixture, which flattens a room and hardens faces.
Two technical notes before you buy: color temperature, around 2700K in living spaces and up to 4000K in a kitchen or home office; and socket size, E27 on most pendants, E14 on more compact fixtures. Browse by type through our pendant lights and lamps, or start from the room you're working on.
