Industrial and Graphic Lighting: Structure on Show
Industrial lighting owns what other styles hide: the cord, the socket, the mount, the metal frame. The drawing turns graphic because it is stripped back to structure — a black metal ring, a rod, an open cage. It is the most legible style from a distance, and the one that holds up best in large volumes.
Materials are few and blunt: matte black steel, raw or aged metal, clear glass, sometimes a brass contrast. Clear glass has a practical consequence — the bulb is visible, so it is part of the decor. An exposed filament bulb produces a completely different result from a bare LED.
